A nice building with lots of potential with a better trained staff. Our overall experience was mediocre at best.
I called to make reservations and the staff specifically asked me if this was a special occasion. I advised it was my husband's birthday and was impressed they asked.. Upon arrival I reminded the hostess of his birthday. My husband ordered wine which did not come until after his meal was served and...
Awsome BBQ! Great price! Don't let appearances keep you away.
This is the ULTIMATE dining experience. The barbecue is great. I STRONGLY recommend the pork over pork "Make it Big." Be sure and order that. Don't let the bullet holes in the windows deter you. As an added bonus, a giant walking chicken can often be found out on the sidewalk next door.
Took the Diner from St Louis's advice and absolutely loved Fojays. I was lucky enough to get a chicken view and let me tell you, that's one big chicken. I couldn't talk the waitress into letting me have the "make it big" with pork but the rib tip sandwich I had was great. The service was top qual...
Not a fancy place but great KC style bbq and the best beans in the world. Try some take out.
Not a fancy place but the best KC style ribs in town and the best bbq beans anywhere. Try some take out, you won't be sorry.
Worst service I've ever had in my life. We waited 45 minutes for two soups, a salad, and wings. The waitress came by once to refill our drinks and did not apologize for the wait. Upon receiving our food, our soups were cold. We informed the waitress and she took another fifteen minutes to bring them...
top notch east coast pizza, the real deal.
As regulars at the CWS we were always impressed with the restaurants in downtown Omaha. But the last couple of years have left us wondering what has happened? Service has been very average as has the food. This restaurant in particuliar somehow manages to overpromise and undeliver year after year. I...
This Omaha landmark recently (8/08) hired a new chef who is experienced in classical cuisine and understands French cooking like only a native Frenchman. Look for great things out of this restaurant's kitchen as well as upgrades in service standards and overall ambiance. This restaurant will set t...
We went to Gerda's for Valentine's Day special dinner. We were blown away by how great the meal was. The chateaubriand tasted so good! It melts in your mouth! And Oh, the dessert, fantastic! The presentation was also great as was the decor and the ambience.
The Chef did a wonderful job!
Excellent authentic German food just like at home in Bavaria and very reasonable priced. The staff was friendly and the wine and beer selection was good. The beer is imported from Munich and went real well with our Schnitzel dinner. The Dessert selection was huge and we had a slice of the Hazelnut T...
Gerdas is an overall great place to stop in for a pastry or a quick meal. I live right down the street and the staff there is always friendly and the food is great. All the pastries are made fresh everyday and the German food is authentic and delicious. Whether its stopping in to pick up a doughn...
Four of us went for lunch Friday: the food was great, the dessert excellent and Gerda and staff were all friendly. My only regret is not finding this fantastic restaurant years ago. I will definitely be back for the dinner menu--soon!
Gerda's desserts and tortes are amazing! My favorites are the Hazelnut Torte "Frosted" with REAL whip cream and layered with crushed hazel nuts; and, the Napoleon Bars: flakey phyllo dough layered with apricot and raspberry fruit filling and real whip cream. So delish! My husband LOVES the Chocolat...
food was ok, it was very dark inside the restaurant. it is the type of restaurant that my grandparents would go to.
HIRO is the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant in Omaha... period.
