We are seniors who have dined in many seafood restaurants on the Southern California coasts and endorse MacGrath's on Chemeketa in Salem, OR, for the taste and value of their halibut and trout -- as good as we have found anywhere. Enjoy!
I gave Gamberetti's a five star overall because my entire dining experience was amazing. Loved the happy hour (Lemoncello yumm!!)Meatball sliders, mini calzone,,and the ingredients were all fresh. Made all the difference in flavor.
Go check it out, you will not be disappointed in the quality of fo...
Thought selection was great. Qaulity is very good, bland, but very good. They also have a spice bar so you can spice it up as much as you like. If you walk away hungry it's your fault.
Overall, I would say that they cater to the older generation but that's me.
Vietnamese is my favorite ethnic food. This rates right up with Pho Oregon and Pho Van in Portland. The Bun Dac Biet was piled with tasty grilled meat and shrimp. The Super Com Platter featured a delicious fried pork chop. We loved this place and will return often.
By far the best dining experience we've had south of Portland. A must stop on our way back from Beaver games -- great martinis, excellent filet mignons, Oregon Pinots, and nonstop service. And did I mention it is also the best art gallery in the state! Don't miss this place when you're in Salem.
was in for dinner 7-31-10, brought along 13 friends (most first time dners here) to share this lovely experience because I think A. is one of the best places around. Still do, but my faith is a bit shaken in that when I mentioned several of us found the salads we had to be too salty (couldn't eat m...
It is one ot the three finest resturants in Salem, and it probably has the finest, most eclectic menu. Don't be put off by the idiots who want fast food. It is a European restaurant, and the service is not slow; it is leisurely. Yes, they are sometimes short one or two food servers, but the food...
It's hard to find authentic thai food, but when I came upon Lanxang I was extremely excited. The food is fresh, the waiter is definitely a hard worker, and the owners are so friendly. Although it's a small place that unfortunately sits next to the Dollar Tree, it is a place where locals should fre...
Alessandro's has become a hip, happy and happening place since changing ownership about three years ago. We dine there at least once a month. Why? One is surrounded by outstanding artwork wherever you sit. The food is consistently good -- especially the filet mignon -- the wine list is excellent, a...
I so wanted to like this restaurant--Salem is in need. However, I found the service slow, and the food overpriced and much less exciting than the menu promised. I get the feeling the place is trying to be something it's not.
We had a reservation at 7 and weren't waited on until 7:30. Our complimentary appetizers arrived at 8, salads at 8:30 we finally left the place at 9:30. Only 1 server for a busy Saturday. Food was just okay. Mac & Cheese was more like fat pasta noodles. Salmon quiche was bland. Went there for a bi...
One word; Awful. We went there and had an appetizer, margarita, and 2 entrees. The 2 entrees were some of the worst food we have ever eaten. When we told the lady that came to get our plates about how horrible it was, she smiled and walked away. Then we waited for 15 minutes and never saw anoth...
Excellent fresh Thai food. Busy, hardworking waiter (yes, there is just one waiter) and he's always moving, refilling, clearing, and checking on the customers.
The food is beautifully presented and the taste is fantastic. Try the fresh garden rolls with shrimp and the beef salad with lime and c...
I love Super Pho. I am Vietnamese and it's been really difficult for me to find a Vietnamese restaurant that would live up to my standards of Viet food. This is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant you will find in Salem. There are about three other ones in Salem, but they do not compare to Super P...
Diana is such an amazing chef! When we went for a lunch, one afternoon, we were blown away at how amazing everything tasted! She makes everything herself!
DaVinci's Restaurant in Salem, Oregon is wonderful in every regard. The food is beyond expectation and served in a very elegant manner. The owner, Mo, makes you feel very welcome. Mo has an extensive wine selection and is exceptionally knowledgeable about each and every wine. The restaurant itself l...
I just love this place. How i want it and however much i want it, does it get any better than this!?!?!?
Caruso's is awesome! My husband and I go there as often as possible! The Caruso's Table (5-6 courses for $42 each) is fabulous if you are up for trying anything (never disappoints but you have no idea what you will get!). The service never disappoints either- Angie, Angie & Stephanie to a phenomenal...
Fantastic menu offering a variety of Vietnamese food. Affordable. Lunch is crowded and often a wait is in store but worth every minute.
