My husband and I ate lunch at the Big Texan. We had looked forward to it since it is so highly advertised. Average barbeque. Sausage is excellent and flavorful, as are the mashed potatoes. But the chopped brisket leaves much to be desired and the ribs are in need of more flavorful sauce. Waitstaff are helpful and friendly, and be sure to get some saltwater taffy.

Have eaten hear for years...and thought I'd try something new. Had the Pork Chops...and was that a mistake. They were FAR from the quality of food I expected...and the price was way out of line for the portion. Not a good experience.

We've only eaten there once, but neither of us were very impressed by it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. We liked their sister restaurant downtown better.
Since I don't enjoy being embarrassed in public, my experience was poor. The bartender wouldn't serve me because she can't understand out-of-state IDs. The food was cold but had solid flavor. Decent bbq, but I'm certain there are better places to go in Amarillo.
