Have you ever walked into a pawn shop and noticed all the trinkets on the wall and everything scattered about? Well that was what the restaurant Sanford’s Pub and Grub was like. From old sports memorabilia to two seated bicycles, Sanford’s had it. With this set up you can probably imagine that the atmosphere in the restaurant was fun and exciting. There was so much going on that there wasn’t much room for a dull moment in the course of the meal. Not only did Sanford’s have their walls covered with useless stuff, they also had over 15 TVs in the whole place. With all this going on, the atmosphere was loud, but there was something fun in it. You could laugh, enjoy your surroundings, and your meal with not a care in the world. The room seemed to be alive with energy and there seemed to be something thrilling about eating there. Sanford’s restaurant definitely sets their standards high when it comes to atmosphere, and with no dull moments allowed it seems to be a fun and exciting place to enjoy your eating experience.
Not only did Sanford’s have a good environment, but the food’s appearance was amazing as well. When you look at the menu you may be overwhelmed with new and spicy things to try, but don’t let that fool you, Sanford’s meals were satisfactory in appearance and taste. They add color to enhance the look of the meal and serve their food on plates that look like hub caps. Just by the look of the food you could feel your mouth watering as it was set in front of you.
One person got there first and was immediately seated for our group of five. However, she said she was disappointed when at first the hostess ignored her for a minute or two to have a separate conversation with another employee. After she was seated the waitress came in only a few moments to get her drink order and she checked back every few minutes to see if anyone else had come. She was very impressed since most servers ignore the table completely if only one person is waiting on a group. Once the rest of the group arrived the server was there shortly to grab drinks and even warned one girl that her drink would be a little more expensive.
As we looked at the menu, some of us tried new items that we had yet to eat at Sanford’s and hoped the menu would be right about what to expect. The Chicken ‘n Chips were fried to a golden brown just like the menu described and it came with the sides of fries and coleslaw. The Bourbon St. New York was perfectly broiled and had a good bourbon sauce that the menu depicted. The Cajun Fajitas were sizzling, full of flavor, and came with the necessary fixings that any fajita lover would expect. The server kept up with refills regularly and once the food arrived she made sure we wouldn’t need anything else. The food was almost exactly what we expected from the menu. The details had our taste buds ready and waiting for the main course. Over all the experience was fun and full of laughs surrounded by good service and tasty food.
The food was again great as we stuffed our faces with the tastiness known as Sanford’s, the quality of the meals out due most restaurants of this style. The steak was cooked exactly how he wanted it, the fajitas were said to be, “excellent,” and “very good,” was used to describe the rather simple and most common chicken finger platter.
The music was more or less being played to appeal everyone as it had all kinds of types from oldies to some newer music. One member of the group did not like it since it had some music that he had never heard; it just was not his type. Although the chatter of the table and the people around was louder at most times when he did catch the music it was not at all appealing to him. The rest of the group, on the other hand, enjoyed the music stating, “It was upbeat, nice, and different then other places.” Sanford’s was over all a good experience for all of us, and a great place to dine.
