Stowe's is a great little clam shack located just across the street from the beach. Fried seafood of all types to order. Great value. The lobster bisque is succulent. Take home some of their baked stuffed scallops - packed with scallops and shrimp in a tasty stuffing.

West Haven Beach is dominated by "Chick's" but it's astronomical prices and "cash only" policy mean forking over a "C" note for a family of four. Our search for better value and tasitier fare led us up the street to Stowe's. From the outside, it looks like an old fishing shack..walk in and the aroma is pure heaven. I take my kids and their friends every summer and can get out of there after feeding six kids drinks, clam rolls, scallop rolls, hot dogs, fries and the occasional lobster roll for about $50 for the seven of us. The kids look forward to it every year and so do I. We all love sitting outside, watching beautiful west haven beach while we eat. Two thumbs up for Stowe's!
