Fantastic food by Chef Zac, optimum young chef, great professional, humble and smart. Extremely nice owner, a really pleasant experience. Much more than simply a dinner! And this is a comment from a colleague, Italian chef!!!!! Try his scallops, they really rock!!!!!!!!!!

The new Chef, Robert Erickson is doing some amazing things in that kitchen! All of a sudden this restaurants food is right there with ANY of the finest in Portland. His lamb is the best in the city. Ask my wife. This is the best kept secret in this town, and Chef Erickson is one of the top five Chef's in Portland. Funny, the man is too humble to realize that. It's really hard to get a table on Friday's and Saturday's since his arrival, you need to try his food, it will knock your socks off!

This place just sucks. The customer service is just plain rude and the food is greasy. No wonder its cheap. The drive thru orders everyone in the restaurant can hear is just tacky. Get a headset!

We live in the neighborhood and have been going to WD for years the food has always been good and we love Stuart (the owner),and I've only known of 4 chefs in 5+ yrs the last one (his name was Ken I think) was a decent "cook" but not a true chef and he seemed to be an angry person. He's been replaced with an amazing chef name Robert since the new chef has come it has been hard for us to find seating on the weekend anymore.

The new Chef Robert Erickson is doing a fantastic job! He has a new menu, new kitchen staff, and his food is world class! Where did they find this guy anyway! This restaurant is on the rise. We have been dining here for four years, and the food is far better now than it ever has been. Congrats to the Wine down and keep up the great work Chef Erickson!

I've been going there for the last 5 yrs and they have only had 3 chefs, the last one was the worst. I stopped going there as much because of the wanna-be-chef put the whole staff on pins and needles. The owner had his hands full... The kitchen staff they have now are awesome probably the best they've ever had and my wife and I live right down the street and when we heard he had a new chef we started going back regularly. Now we look forward to going there at least once a week like we use too. By the way Stuart and his staff are what make the place rock!!!
