Good food and plenty of it in a huge, barn-like building. I'm not sure I'd like to see the kitchen, however.

The seafood is great the pork ribs are the best in the world. I would sugest that people read the historial marker on site before they call it a old barn.

This has got to be one of the top three bbq's I have ever had.....and I've had a lot. I sampled the brisket and the sausages. The brisket ranks a 9 out of 10, The sausage was a perfect 10 out of 10. Juicy, flavorful...absolutely wonderful. I'm already planning my next trip down to New Braunfels I wo...
If dining in an old grist mill is your thing, then be all means, don't miss this place. The food is good and the view and surroundings are great.
Nice environment. Family atmosphere. Outdoor seating. Historic building. Good food, fair prices. One of the better, not best, restaurants in New Braunfels. For casual dining or lunch it is a good experience.

Liberty Bistro is a must stop when you are in the New Braunfels area and is definitely worth a drive if you are in San Antonio or Austin. They have a very diverse menu so whatever you are looking for they have it. The wine list is excellent as well. I've had seafood, pizza, lamb, steaks and have ...
Very nice. Excellent food!
Only one word, Maravilloso!
I asked the waiter about the German potato salad, German fried potatoes and the German potato pancakes, his answer the food is like in Germany. The waiter asked me how the food is, I explained to him that the food is not even close to German food, his commend " I don't care it is Texas German Food"...
Worst restaurant we have visited in a long time. I asked i the server if the green beans were fresh or canned and was assured they were fresh. I am not a dummy and I know what cannned beans look like. Our fine server also asked our 9 year old daughter if she wanted chicken nuggets or chicken strips....
This seems to be a tourist trap restaurant. The food was nothing special, and the price for what you get is not worth it at all. I recommend looking elsewhere.
I live in New Braunfels and I honestly don't understand how this is supposed to be a good experience for anyone. I don't understand why they would have repeat customers. The food is over priced and not particularly interesting. The ambience is similar to a 1970's truckstop. The waiters are unprofess...
When we walked in, there was a table of elderly gentlemen at a table, nursing their steins of beer, and chattering away in German. Reminded us of a bierhall in Munich. The food was good, too.
Oma's Haus is definately "Texas German" food. It's not going to taste like food you eat IN Germany, but it is going to taste good. If you see items on the menu like German Nachos, Sausage tacos, and Niersteiner Schnitzel (sounds authentic, but is a made up word)...then you should know you're in for ...
This is an excellent restaurant to relax and enjoy great food and service. A trip to New Braunfels, San Antonio, or San Marcos would not be complete if you miss this restaurant. The gift shop is great too.
The person from Florida can have all her other german cities, and all her other German restaurants, New Braunfels does it differently, and they do it right!
